Education is the key to all we do at Mothman Ministries. We offer a number of mutual aid resources to ensure you can always find community and education, as well as provide community and education to others.
THE NINE TENETS
Mothman Ministries subscribes to Nine fundamental tenants.
TENET TWO
Wealth redistribution is necessary to ensure a free society (Matthew 19:24)
TENET FOUR
A dedication and firm understanding of scripture as a tool of liberation
TENET SIX
Everyone has the right to food, clean water, security, housing and healthcare. (Psalm 24)
TENET EIGHT
A dedication to empathy, education, praxis, reason and redemptive justice
TENET ONE
A commitment to bodily autonomy & consent (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
TENET THREE
We stand firmly against white supremacy, homophobia, and bigotry of every kind, and work every day to unpack personal prejudices (Luke 10:29-37)
TENET FIVE
Always be kind to your neighbors, and probably bake them pie. (Matthew 22:37–39)
TENET SEVEN
Those in power should always be held accountable. This includes the state, the church and business owners (Luke 18:1-8)
TENET NINE
All humans have a fundamental right to rest, relaxation, fun and fabulousness.
OUR COMMUNITY
Church of Mothman is Dedicated to serving Appalachia. Through the dedication of our leadership, reverends and volunteers, we are committed to the teachings of Jesus. With a joyful spirit and hearty laughter, we hope to spread the light of Christ in the world. We are open to worshippers of all ages and backgrounds, and strive to lead all who worship with us towards a deeper sense of community and a better world for all. Conversion not required!
